Direct contract workers have been working on daily wages Rupees close to 1000 had a demand of permanent appointment and uprising their status. Industrial ministry had made a declaration that these workers been appointed permanently. But the management and the government fooling them giving word confirmation regarding it. These workers have been working more than 25 years in this company. And their families have been struggling a lot more with out getting benefits out of it.
And the labours had physical ailments due to chemical reaction affected from the work in the company. For many years labour unions include INTUC , CITU, UTUC , STU , AITUC had been conducting strike for permanent job settlements. But there is no action taken from management. And the management had never signed long term contract of Salary hike package until now. Union leaders and Management is in discussion about adding Rs 40 to salary caught up from the workers by the company never reached final settlements.
Now the workers had 20 working days for doing labour works in the company. But their demand is that they must be given permanent appointment staff status as per the company norms. It is a team play of trade union leadership and Management not to allow us permanent staff status attribute labours. So the government and company management take immediate steps to appointing Direct contract workers permanently.
