The first travel history of Kollam ancient people

It is more miraculous when we think about ancient travel history. In ancient days people in  Kollam town mainly includes  patients, women, officers  and many renowned persons for their day to day  travelling depended up on Bullock cart , Jadka vehicle (horse cart) or running  cycle rickshaw  pulled by men.

It was available in major junctions in Kollam. And also having the availability of boats carrying food and  travel boats  are daily seen in Kollam Ashtamudi lake. And also the lake was pure and lake shore preserved with stones.

And before  the independence here happened a great famine for groceries. Ancient rulers of Kollam  taken a strong action against this. In that days,   there happened a obstacle in the availability of kerosene for rickshaws. After the independence with the help of communist party certain labours teamed up and organised rickshaw Labour union.

In addition to this ,   with the leadership of PSP party  labours organised another labour rickshawa union substitution of this. In those days a person having diminutive name called Kalan Ibrahim reached Tamil Nadu and bring up a cycle rickshaw from there. Labours in Kollam seen this is more apt than Bullock cart or Jadka.

And they thought this is more feasible. So the labour unions stood for driving cycle rickshaws , making it more familiar with people was news peak of them. In EMS cabinet they made compulsory of badge and license for driving cycle rickshaws.

This was given by the Hackney carriage act. And the accountability were given by police. In Kollam town there was having more than 2000 cycle rickshaw walas on that period.

A cost of Rs below 1000 was the price for one cycle rickshaws on that time. And now the ages gone . Scientific experiments come up. Development comes up in all sectors. And the cycle rickshaws went back to  memories. A single rickshaw been  rubbed off from our sight.
When we chewing the memories of ancient days we are losing the enjoyments and heart felting  memories of these.
