The fraud started with Rs 10 lakh. Then it was threatened by asking for Rs 1 crore. Now it has been increased to Rs 4 crore and turned into professional theft by blackmailing. An expatriate doing business abroad has approached the police and court with a complaint against an old friend’s gang. The complainant is Subash George Manuel, who does business in the UK. The complaint was filed against Thomas Kochu Thollayil Chacko, who was the director of customer support in the company he was a part of. At first, he said that he was sick and wanted Rs 10 lakh for treatment. Subash George Manuel gave Rs 10 lakh with the intention of curing his friend’s illness.

This was followed by the demand for Rs 1 crore and a dispute. Then Subash George Manuel tried to destroy and malign those who were involved with the company and spread fake news on major channels and online. The incident is that Chacko used his family members and media friends for this. Subash George Manuel has filed a case in court against him. However, Kottayam resident Chacko is continuing to concoct a scheme to extort Rs. 40 million from Subash Manuel. The media has now also come to know about the incident of blackmailing Subash Manuel. Therefore, the fake news given by Chacko is not bearing fruit.

Like a factory worker who only produces fraud, embezzlement and falsehoods, Thomas Kochuthollayil Chacko is playing a blackmail drama against Subash George Manuel, who is doing business in the UK. This expatriate businessman believes that the law and justice will soon lock him up. Subash George Manuel is ready to give a counter-work for every job his old colleague gives him. But he says that it will only be legal.

Chacko’s drama under the mask of fraud is like this

Though Thomas Chacko left his business in the UK and came to Karukachal, Kottayam, he did not take his eyes off his friend’s savings in the UK. Chacko’s blind intelligence worked to extort everything he had seen from his friend when he was with him in business. First, he committed a fraud by making his own body sick. Anyone who heard of illness would help. Subash George Manuel also agreed to help. The first money embezzlement was like that. Thomas Chacko asked for ten lakh rupees. Anyone would be convinced that the disease that needed to be treated with such money was not viral fever or sore throat.

Therefore, Subash George Manuel transferred ten lakh rupees to the account mentioned by Thomas Chacko for treatment. Thomas Chacko’s promise to return it was like a promise. Tired of asking for the money he had helped, Subash George Manuel sent a legal notice to Thomas Chacko. Still, Thomas Chacko and his family insisted that he would not return the money he had received. The family stood by Chacko to prevent him from returning the money. With this, Subash George Manuel realized that the intention of Chacko and his gang was to extort money. The subsequent intervention was very careful.

From the time he realized that Chacko’s eyes were only on money, every move was cautious. Still, Chacko moved his hands with cunning. He did not want to get a loan anymore, but instead turned to bringing him to justice or subjugating him. For this, Thomas Chacko recruited his brother-in-law Kuriakose Antony, his wife Thresyamma K.C., his son Alvin Kuriakose, his friend Baiju Thittalayil, who had a lot of courage, and then Manorama Online reporter Sibi Nilambur to fabricate fake news.

All the subsequent moves were fraudulent schemes carried out by them. Their intention was to blackmail and extort Rs. 1 crore from the complainant. For this, Manorama used a reporter to spread fake news against Subash George Manuel. Manorama also published the defamatory news online. However, after realizing the mistake, Manorama removed the news and expressed regret. Reporter Sibi Nilambur, who reported the fake news, admitted that he was misled and that he was incited to publish defamatory news by giving false information. However, Subash George Manuel is adamant that he will proceed with the case against the person who spread false and untrue information against him.

After this, Chacko and his gang dared to file false complaints again. This time, Chacko’s brother-in-law, Kuriakose Antony, filed a false complaint. Crime No. 0319 of 2026 was registered at Karukachal Police Station. The complaint raised allegations about investing in cryptocurrency. It was alleged that a large amount of money was transferred to Messrs. Bee International Consultancy Private Limited, owned by Subash George Manuel. However, that company is not owned by Subash George Manuel. Still, it was a complaint aimed at defending it by pretending that it belonged to Subash George Manuel.

An investigation into the complaint found that the allegations were false and fabricated. The transfer of Rs. 99,04,013 as alleged by the accused was not found. It was found that the complaint was deliberately fabricated to malign and defame Subash George Manuel. Further investigation revealed that Chacko’s brother-in-law and friend had transferred less than Rs. 22,00,000 to Messrs. Bee International Consultancy Private Limited to purchase crypto gift cards.
Chacko’s fake news strategy came into being while the case was under investigation. On 22.05.2026, Manorama Online published a false and defamatory news.

The news was that Subash George Manuel had cheated crores of rupees and that Subash George Manuel had fled abroad when the police arrived, that hundreds of foreign nationals, including Sri Lankan and Pakistani nationals, had been cheated, and that complaints were being filed against Subash George Manuel from various police stations in Kerala and elsewhere. The false complaint and the case against Subash George Manuel had approached the High Court and the proceedings were closed after the Public Prosecutor recorded the argument that the alleged crimes were bailable and there was no fear of arrest. Still, the news came out as Subash George Manuel was a big criminal and a fraudster.

Thomas Chacko knew that this news would cause serious damage to the reputation, status and business interests of Subash George Manuel. Thomas Chacko had calculated the losses that would be incurred if such news came out about a businessman on social media and in the media. With the news, friends, relatives, business associates and acquaintances had to misunderstand Subash George Manuel. He informed him about this directly. The actions of Chacko and his gang caused great damage to the personal reputation, professional status, business interests and social respect of Subash George Manuel. The aim is to counter this. Subash George Manuel says that demanding Rs 4 crore by providing fake news and filing false complaints is a regular practice of fraudsters, and he is unwilling to bow down to such frauds.
